LEAGUE FIXTURE 22/26 - Thursday 16th March
Freewheelers 4-11 No 1 Blues
Clonlee 1-14 Station Bar
Ibrox 5-10 Thatch
Q.Pool 9-7 Q.Club
Saints 11-4 Feathers
Thatch Rockets 10-5 St Comgalls
Rubys 9-7 Gers
Feathers lost only their first fixture of the whole season but it could prove to be a fatal blow in their dream of becoming 2017 Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League Champions. They have been replaced by their conquerors tonight at the top, Dean McDonagh's Saints. The signs were there in the last couple of weeks that the pressure was building for the Pigeon Club team as they had dropped points against much lower opposition but no matter their fate Hugo Manson's lads can be very proud of what they have achieved this season, they certainly added a breath of fresh air to the title chase and raised many an eyebrow. For the record Saints won 11-4. Thatch Bar after a solid 10-5 win away to Ibrox are only one point off the top but they will have to rely on Saints and Feathers dropping points if they are to become Champions for the fourth year in a row. Q.Pool's outside chance is still alive thanks to a play off frame win over stablemates Q.Club in the newly refurbished Q.Club. Hero of the hour was Neil McKelvey, who won the sixteenth frame and four from four in total in the match. Rubys Stars who had slumped in League form during their cup run to the Final registered two welcome points with Captain Nick McClay winning the play off frame against sixth placed Gers whilst Station Bar thrashed bottom team Clonlee by a whopping 14-1. And last but not least No 1 Blues move two points clear in ninth with an 11-4 win away to Freewheelers
