Fixtures to be Postponed for World Championships and Nations Cup.
Clonlee/Marty’s Legends
Slippys/St Comgalls
St Comgalls/8 Ball Army
It
was brought up that fixtures on 31st October may also be affected as a
lot of players were travelling to Malta that day. Play commences 1st
November. Possible fixtures affected were LBTC B/Martys and
Slippys/Railway. Delegates from Slippys and Martys to get back to
secretary.
It was put out to the room about a
Charity for 24/25 season. Secretary to check with Scott Hutchinson about
his suggestion at the AGM. Gerry McCorry suggested the Hospice as an
alternative if no other suggestions. Jean McIlroy also said we could ask
Rodney McIlhinney for his thoughts as he was currently going through a
treatment process.
Any other business
Gerry
McCorry brought up about communications for committee decisions in
future for fixture changes etc. Jean McIlroy agreed and said committee
would take this on board for rest of the season and beyond.
Jean
McIlroy suggested swapping week 8 with week 10 to help minimise
postponed games during World Championships. This would mean only
Slippys/Martys would be postponed eliminating need to postpone
Slippys/St Comgalls and Clonlee/Martys.
Seconded by William Irvine and in favour with rest of room.
Chairman
asked rooms opinion on committee decision to move week 6 with week 9 in
order to facilitate a request from the Station Bar. Gerry asked going
forward would this be the norm for fixture postponements/moves. William
Irvine said the the health concerns of a Station Bar player was the main
reason in changing fixtures. Jean McIlroy said it was good that we
could accommodate teams and with the Station Bar’s Bye still available
this was possible.
William Irvine brought up
about next meeting date and with 4 of the Committee away it was a better
idea to have next meeting on 14th November. Agreed.
