What a fantastic match in the Thatch Bar in the big clash between Thatch and Saints. A Saints win would have opened the League race right up, but after a pulsating 8-8 draw Thatch stay four points clear and are now big favourites to regain the title they last won in the 2011/2012 season. Saints got off to a superb start racing into a 5-0 lead needing only four more frames for victory, but back came Thatch winning six on the trot to take an unlikely lead. The next two were shared to give the hosts a slender 7-6 lead, but again the Saints rallied to lead 8-7 and take the match into a play off frame. Going head to head were two Northern Ireland Mens 'A' Team cueists Ronan McCarthy for Thatch and Rab McCullough for Saints, McCullough broke and was in a very commanding position as McCarthy came to the table for his first visit. But what a visit as he proceeded to take out an unbelievable eight ball clearance from nowhere to ensure a share of the points for both teams. A truly great match. No 1 Club move quietly up to 2nd now after winning the big derby match against No 1 Reds by 9-6. Darren Lowe bagged a fine hat trick. Gers stay 4th after winning 10-5 away to Dhu and Feathers won by a similar scoreline with Stephen Peoples bagging a treble. The misery for Ibrox continues as they lost for the third time in a row in a play off frame, this time Station Bar were the victors with Steven Morgan netting a hat trick and David Magill winning the all important 16th frame. St Comgalls were held to an 8-8 draw at home to LIPS who had John Butler to thank in the final frame of the match. And last but not least honours were also even at 8-8 between Highfliers and Thatch Rockets in the Pigeon Club, Rodney McIlhinney winning the 16th frame for the 'Fliers.
