Congratulations to Shaun McAlister and Dean McDonagh. The Saints duo are the new 2014 Larne & District League Doubles Champions after a dramatic Finals Night in the Pigeon Club on Monday 3rd March.
After a marathon Semi Final against Station Bar pair Steven Morgan and Paul Smyth, they came up against Stuart Houston (Gers) and Eddie Gribben (No 1 Club) in the Final. That duo had seen off Bill McIlroy Sr (Thatch) and Mickey O'Boyle (Station Bar) in their Semi Final. And what a final it was, going right to the 7th and deciding frame and hanging in the balance right up until McAlister cut the last black of the competition into the centre pocket. Well done to all the players who took part on the night.
