Yet another great week in the Q.CLUB sponsored Larne & District Pool League sees Saints open up a three point gap at the top of the table. The match of the night was Champions Thatch at home to Ibrox. And what a match it was, Ibrox led 7-5 only for Thatch to storm back to lead 8-7 but Stephen Johnston secured a hard fought point for the Rangers Club team in the play off frame. Saints failed to impress away to Tech Tornadoes early on, maybe they had one eye on how the Thatch were faring before they woke up and realised they were in trouble. But they duly took seven out of the last eight frames to claim a 9-6 victory. The two other title contenders Q.Pool and Feathers had comfortable wins, Q.Pool whitewashing Clonlee 15-0 and Feathers easing to a 10-5 win against The Gers. St Comgalls new found form continues with a 15-0 thrashing of basement team Rubys Bar as does Q.Club's revival with Tyler McKee winning the play off frame for a 9-7 success at Station Bar. In the No 1 Club derby match the young Blues team came back from 2-7 down to claim a point with Craig Johnston winning the play off frame against a stunned No 1 Reds. Last but not least another close fought match ended in a draw as Thatch Rockets and Freewheelers shared the points in the Pigeon Club fixture.
