What another great week in the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League. Five out of the eight matches went the distance needing a play off frame to get a result. Champions Thatch eventually overcame a very resiliant Feathers team by 9-7 with Ryan McKillop securing both points in the 16th frame courtesy of a break and dish. Down in the Rangers Club, Ibrox trailed 1-7 to Q.Pool but ground their way back in to the match only to lose out unluckily in the 16th frame, Stephen Herron being the Q.Pool hero with 4/4 overall. No such drama for League leaders Saints as they romped to a 13-2 win over stablemates Clonlee in the St Comgalls Club derby match. The St Comgalls team themselves had Rab Wilson to thank as he won 4/4 on the night including the play off frame for a 9-7 win over Station Bar. Underachievers Gers strolled to a big 12-3 win away to Thatch Rockets whilst Tech Tornadoes good form took a backward step as they lost 7-9 at home to No 1 Reds, who had Captain Gareth McIlroy to thank for sealing the two points via the play off frame. In the battle of the basement team it was the young No 1 Blues lads who opened up a four point gap over Rubys Bar with Ryan Scott winning the all important 16th frame. Last but not least it was Q.Club who were doing the freewheeling as they whitewashed the Freewheelers 15-0 in a one sided rout.
