And then there were two. Champions Thatch and Saints who meet next week are the only remaining teams with 100% records in the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League. Hugo Mansons' Feathers still remain unbeaten. What a fantastic advert for local Blackball Pool we saw tonight in the Q.Club as the title chasing duo of Q.Pool and Saints clashed on the green baize. In a match with many international players on show it seemed all over bar the shouting as the away team raced into a surprising 5-0 lead, but Barney Hylands' Q.Pool never gave up and came roaring back with seven in a row to lead 7-5 with three to play. Back came Saints to win all three and force the match into a play off frame in which Dean McDonagh held his nerve to finish well and give the visitors both points. Meanwhile Thatch Bar quietly went about their usual clinical business thrashing the No 1 Reds 12-3 whilst Feathers had a comfortable 10-5 home win over newcomers Rubys. Ibrox finally clicked into gear tonight winning twelve frames in a row against a stunned Station Bar for a 13-2 success whilst stablemates The Gers came away with both points courtesy of a 9-6 away win at a gutsy St Comgalls side. Freewheelers won the last two frames to take both points away to Clonlee and Q.Club won the play off frame to register a draw away to the No 1 Blues. Last but not least the improving Tech Tornadoes seen off Thatch Rockets with a bit to spare in a 12-3 win.
