LEAGUE WEEK 5 RESULTS

No 1 Blues 10-5 Gers
Station Bar 6-9 Thatch Rockets
Thatch 9-6 Saints
Ibrox 12-3 Q.Pool
Clonlee 6-9 Freewheelers
Q.Club 8-8 St Comgalls
Feathers 10-5 Rubys

They say a week in politics is a long time. But a week in the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League is surely longer. Hugo Manson's Feathers' side now sit proudly at the top of the pile after a solid 10-5 home win over Rubys Stars coupled with Q.Pool's first defeat of the season. Leaders Q.Pool travelled to an Ibrox side still hurting after last weeks 13-2 reverse at Saints. But the Rangers Club team turned it right round romping home 12-3 helped by a 5-0 lead after the first session. In the other big clash of the night Thatch made an ominous statement to those who thought they were a spent force as they beat Dean McDonagh's Saints 9-6, winning all three sessions 3-2. Q.Club and St Comgalls battled out an 8-8 draw with Wayne Lewis winning the play off frame for the hosts to give himself 4/4 on the night. Station Bar lost 9-6 at home to Thatch Rockets whilst No 1 Blues made it two wins on the trot with a fine 10-5 win over The Gers. Clonlee remain bottom after a tight 9-6 defeat at home to Geoff McMichaels improving Freewheelers who had to take the final three frames for their two points. Only four points now seperate the top nine teams and with some postponements over the next three weeks of fixtures things could change rapidly once again.
