It really is tight at the top of the Larne & District Pool League as only 6 points seperate the top 7 teams. In the big match Thatch just edged out Saints in a titanic tussle 9-7 when Jonny Nelson won the play off frame as the clock ticked past 1.00am. The talent on display would grace any top team in NI, Ronan McCarthy, Jonny Nelson and Shaun McAlister to name but a few. Gers laboured to a 9-7 home win over new boys Dhu, also after a David Kernoghan play off frame win, Neil McKelvey and Ricky Mann both scored trebles for home and away teams respectively. William Irvine's No 1 Club are clear in second now after a comfortable win in the derby match against No 1 Reds. Lenny Swan was the man of the match netting a hat trick for the hosts who got off to a great start winning the first 6 frames. Feathers keep up their good start to the season winning with a bit to spare against Larne FSC. There were trebles for both Stephen Peoples and Stephen Beggs. Thatch Rockets won 9-6 at home to Highfliers. The visitors were still very much in the match at 6-7 down with two left to play but both frames went the way of the Rockets to seal the two points. In the final match St Comgalls overcame a spirited effort from LIPS but they needed the extra play off frame to do so. Ibrox remain joint 5th after their match at Station Bar was postponed and No 1 Blues had a bye this week.
