Pigeon Club have opened up a four point gap at the top of the table after tonights results in the Larne & District Pool League. Bryan McWhirter's side didn't have it all their own way but still took both points away to a gutsy Q.Club side captained by Neil McFaul. Q.Pool remain in second spot even though they were outgunned by Feathers who are quickly moving up the table after a bad start to their season. Hugo Manson's lads won the match 10-5. Gers faltered in their title challenge as they lost their first derby match in six fixtures against Ibrox. Richard Todd's side trailed 6-5 but won the final four racks of the night, Stephen McWhirter securing the all important fifteenth for a 9-6 win. Rubys recorded an 11-4 success away to Clonlee and in an exciting match in the Station Bar Ciaran O'Toole won the play off frame to give his side a share of the spoils against St Comgalls. Last but not least well done to bottom side Thatch Rockets who before tonight were on zero points, Vince Barkleys team got off the mark with a 9-5 home win over Jordan Peoples' Freewheelers and are now only two adrift off nearest rivals Clonlee. Alex Irvine's Blues had a bye this week.
