The Larne Pool League Doubles Competition starts this Thursday (17th February) with the first rounds of matches. From each of the 8 venues, will emerge 1 pairing to play in the Quarter Finals which will take place on Monday 21st February in the Pigeon Club. The Competition will be then played to a finish, also in the Pigeon Club on Monday 28th February.
There are some mouth watering ties in prospect. Last years winners Stephen Burns & Trevor Whiteside face Bill McIlroy Sr & Lee McCormick, whilst who could call the winner of the Bill McIlroy Jr/Gerry McCorry pairing against the duo of Dee Irwin/Paul Roberts. St Comgalls pair Anthony McCorry & Paul McAllister will welcome home advantage against Gatherups team of Michael Wilson & Gary Neeson, whilst Michael Douglas & Jonny Millar of Larne FC have a tricky tie against Feathers duo Hugo Manson and Alaister Law.

RULES
Players lag to decide what team breaks first. Breaks then alternate in team order and player order (ie a player can only have 1 break in any 4 consecutive frames of a match) up until a deciding frame if necessary. If a decider is needed the 2 players who did not lag at the start shall lag to decide what team breaks in the final frame.
Once a player has addressed (touched) the table, there can be no communication with their team-mate until the players visit is completed. Infringement of this rule will result in a foul and 2 shots to the opposing team.
