Larne & District Pool League resumed after the Christmas and New Year break. Title contenders Ibrox, Gers and Saints all had big wins to keep the pressure on at the top. For Gers, debutante Marty Goudy had a double including a fine break & dish, but it's Bryan McWhirter's Thatch who stay in pole position courtesy of a comfortable win 12-3 of their own in the derby match against Thatch Rockets. But what a shock was unfolding in the No 1 Club derby match as Alec Irvine's young Blues team all but ended the title ambitions of No 1 Club with a dramatic 9-7 victory. The man of the match was Ryan Scott who won 4/4 on the night. With the match poised at 7-7 Scott edged the Blues ahead and then broke and dished in the 16th and final frame off the evening for a memorable win. No 1 Reds started the year off in fine form by easily beating Dhu 12-3. Feathers won 15-0 against team 2nd from bottom, Highfliers.
