Its a two way tie at the top after Week 4 of the Larne & District Pool League as Saints and Gers both won to preserve their 100% starts to the season. Saints went 0-2 down at No 1 Reds but came back strongly to record a 9-6 win. Gers laboured for the first 7 frames at Thatch Rockets but won 7 out of the last 8 to secure a comfortable 11-4 win. There were hat tricks apiece for Neil McKelvey, Lee Hogg and captain Stuart Houston. Joint leaders going into tonights fixtures The Thatch, were involved in a titanic struggle away to Richard Todd's Ibrox. It was the hosts who came out on top by 9-6 with the experienced Robert Hawkins bagging a hat trick. No 1 Club will be disappointed after dropping a point at home to Station Bar. The Railway lads had Stephen Morgan to thank as he won the 16th and all important play off frame. And Dhu are up and running with their first win, a resounding 10-5 away to Highfliers in the Pigeon Club. A 6 frame burst mid match helped them to 2 points. Best on the night was O.Mulvenna with a fine hat trick for the Golf Club team and K.McGuickan for the Highfliers. Feathers are joint 3rd after winning 10-5 at Inver Park against LIPS. They came out of the blocks running to lead 5-0. LIPS stormed back to 4-5, but Feathers moved up a gear to seal a comfortable win with team captain Hugo Manson scoring 3/3. St Comgalls and No 1 Blues went all the way with the young Blues team just missing out on a point after St Comgalls Danny McKendry came out tops in the play off frame.
