A four team Pool Competition in aid of CACTI our nominated charity for the 2012/2013 season proved to be a huge success. The event which was played in the Rangers Club on Friday night 3rd May, seen Larne, Carrick, Crumlin and Ballyclare Leagues play out a round robin 11 A-Side tournament with the top 2 teams progressing to the final. The Pool event itself was excitement at its best as hosts Larne won on the final black in the final frame of the night. League Secretary Scott Hutchinson was the unlikely hero in the deciding frame. Ballyclare redeemed themselves after a poor showing in the group stage by beating Carrick 6-5 in the 3rd & 4th Place Play Off, Michael Higgins edging the deciding frame in that match. We came to assist the CACTI charity, and on the night we raised £372 to give us an overall whopping figure of £738, a record amount for any fundraising season. The Larne League would like to thank the players off Carrick, Crumlin, Ballyclare and Larne itself for digging deep for this worthy cause.
