LEAGUE WEEK 7

THURSDAY 24th OCTOBER 2019

Blues 5-10 Lorraine's
Five Plus One 8-8 Ibrox
Q.Stix 9-7 Clonlee
St Comgalls 9-7 Q.Tips
Station Bar 6-9 Eight Ball Army

Feature match - The top two teams served up a high drama match in the Q.Club as Ibrox and Five Plus One battled out an 8-8 draw. Ibrox buoyed by a Marty Goudie hat trick and a brace from both Lee McIlreavy and Gary Wallace stay top by a point after Johnny Nelson rescued a draw for the hosts by winning the Play Off Frame. Session scores were 3-2, 1-4, 3-2 and 1-0. Best on the night for Five Plus One was Nelson himself on three from four. A draw was indeed a fair result.

Elsewhere Q.Tips missed a chance to go second after another match that went the distance to the sixteenth rack. Leading 8-7 St Comgalls' Dean McDonagh duly obliged for the hosts to ensure two vital points for his team. Session scores were 3-2, 3-2, 2-3 and 1-0. John Kerr's Eight Ball Army's great start to the season continued after they won 9-6 away to Station Bar with each session being 3-2 in the visitors favour. Lorraine's Flyers had too much firepower for the Blues on the night and registered a solid 10-5 away win, a result that puts them on four points in ninth position. Session scores in the Q.Club were 2-3, 1-4 and 2-3. Clonlee still looking for their first points of the season pushed Alan Johnston's Q.Stix all the way to the Play Off Frame but alas it wasn't to be for Francie Gribben's lads as Jim Gilchrist ensured both points for Stix. Sessions went 3-2, 3-2, 2-3 and 1-0. Last but not least tonight Q.Pool had a bye.
