The Q.Club sponsored 2017-2018 programme of the Larne & District Pool League came to an end tonight Thursday 2nd May. Bryan McWhirter's Pigeon Club, already crowned as Champions, finished off their campaign with a comfortable 11-4 win away to Alex Irvine's Blues. In the race for second position it was Ibrox who prevailed after a 9-6 home win against a dogged and determined basement Thatch Rockets side managed by Alaister Law. It was a good send off by the Rangers Club team to Manager Richard Todd who is stepping down from management next season. Gers season fizzled out with a 9-6 defeat away to Rubys Stars but Stuart Houston can be proud off the challenge they put in, they were right up there at the top most of the season but just fell away over the last month. Nick McClays' Rubys finish in eighth spot. Hugo Manson's Feathers finished off with a solid 10-5 win at home to Freewheelers to guarantee a fifth placed finish, Jordan Peoples's Freewheelers come in eleventh. Micky O'Boyles' Station Bar ended the season in style, seeing off Neil McFaul's Q.Club team by 11-4. Station finish ninth and Q.Club in sixth. In the St Comgalls Club derby match it was Paul Smyth's team who took the honours 9-6 against Francie Gribben's Clonlee. Clonlee finish twelfth with St Comgalls in a respectable seventh after a slow start to the season. Last but not least, William Irvine's Q.Pool side had a bye tonight but finish in third spot.
