PIGEON CLUB v BYE

Bryan McWhirter's Pigeon Club side took a giant step towards becoming Champions this week without hitting a ball. Whilst they were having a week off with their bye Paul Smyth's St Comgalls team were doing them a big favour by beating second placed Gers 10-5 in the Rangers Club. Pigeon Club now need only four more points from a possible eight on offer to become 2018 Champions. Ibrox travelled to Feathers where a tight match was anticipated but the visitors were in fine form and ran out 10-5 victors on the night. Q.Pool were comfortable in their derby fixture against Freewheelers easing to a 10-5 success and Q.Club strolled to an untroubled 12-3 away win at Clonlee. Alex Irvine's Blues entertained Station Bar and both teams fought out an exciting 8-8 draw, Station Captain Micky O'Boyle winning the Play Off frame for the visitors. Last but not least Rubys consolidated eighth spot in the table after an 11-4 home win over bottom side Thatch Rockets. The match was tight at 4-3 to the hosts but a seven frame burst sealed both points for Nick McClay's team
