LEAGUE FIXTURE 8

RUBYS 8-8 STATION BAR
Q.CLUB 9-7 BLUES
CLONLEE 6-9 IBROX
Q.POOL 12-3 THATCH ROCKETS
GERS 10-5 FREEWHEELERS
PIGEON CLUB 11-4 ST COMGALLS
FEATHERS v BYE

The top five teams all won so no change at the summit of the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League. Leaders Pigeon Club laboured for a while against St Comgalls, but moved up through the gears to run out 11-4 winners on the night. Gers were similar early doors as they seen a 4-1 lead disappear at home to Freewheelers, but six out from the next seven frames gave Stuart Houston's team another vital two points. William Irvine's Q.Pool were untroubled by bottom side Thatch Rockets winning 12-3 but Ibrox had to fight all the way as Francie Gribben's Clonlee full of confidence from their shock result last week looked to cause another upset. Ibrox Captain Richard Todd was mighty relieved when his team got over the line. In the derby match in the Q.Club it was Wayne Lewis for the second time this season who secured both points by taking the play off frame, this time against The Blues in a keenly contested fixture. Last but not least Rubys and Station Bar had to settle for a point a piece in an 8-8 draw. Rubys had Drew Niblock to thank as he won Frame 15 & then the all important 16th.
