With the League title in what was a fantastic season decided last week all eyes were on the Player of the Year crown as the final League fixtures of the season took place around the venues. And what a climax we had in the Q. Club with 4 players still in the mix including last years joint winner and current leader Dean McDonagh. But McDonagh was to falter losing two out of three racks, both to Q.Club Seniors cueist Neil Campbell. Team mate Anthony McCorry won 2/3 and with Gerry McCorry also winning 2/3 up in the Pigeon Club everything came down to Bill McIlroy Sr who now had it in his own hands in his 3rd frame having already won his first two. With a lot at stake it was a Bill classic lasting over 30 minutes but the big man just months short of his 60th birthday didn't care as he potted the final black to take down the title. Fantastic achievement, well done Bill.
