Congratulations to both St Comgalls and Freewheelers on winning the Premier Consolation Cup and Q.Club Consolation Cup respectively. Both matches were played in the Q.Club on Thursday 17th May.
Paul Smyth's St Comgalls took a 2-0 lead against Station Bar but the Railway men responded by taking the next three on the trot to lead narrowly after the first session. A 4-1 result in the next session seen St Comgalls lead 6-4 and it was all over two racks later when stalwart Anthony McCorry potted the winning black in Frame 12 to take the trophy back to the St Comgalls Club.
Defending trophy winners from last season Clonlee, who also play out of St Comgalls, were hoping to make it a double for the Club. But after the first two frames were shared it was all Freewheelers as Jordan Peoples' improving side took six on the trot to lead 7-1. Clonlee took the next, but it was all over when Gary Peoples sunk the black in Frame 10 to give his side an impressive 8-2 victory.
