The big three title challengers all won with plenty to spare tonight in the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League. Leaders Feathers raced into a 9-0 lead over the No 1 Blues and went on to secure a 12-3 win. Second placed Thatch who on paper had the trickiest match lost the first frame but then proceeded to take eight from the next nine in an 11-4 away win at the Gers. Saints too were untroubled as they thrashed bottom team Clonlee 13-2 in the Station Bar. Q.Pool had an emphatic win, 14-1 at home to Freewheelers whilst Ibrox laboured to a 9-6 away win at Thatch Rockets needing rack fifteen to avoid the play off frame. Q.Club brought Rubys Stars back down to earth after their Knock Out Cup Semi Final exploits during the week, Neil McFaul's team winning 10-5 on the night. Last but not least St Comgalls got two welcome points on the board with a solid 9-6 home win over Station Bar. As the business end of the Championship race nears next Thursday sees fourth placed Ibrox entertain third placed Saints whilst leaders Feathers have a banana skin fixture away to Q.Club. Thatch entertain stablemates Thatch Rockets in the Thatch Bar derby match.
