They said Leicester City couldn't possibly win the Premier League last season and we all know what happened, but Feathers Pool Team surely can't win the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League. Try telling that to this bunch of players who just keep digging out the wins for manager Hugo Manson, this time it was another play off frame decider for another 9-7 win at home to a Saints team who were tipped by many at the start of the campaign to take the crown away from defending Champions, Thatch. Alan Johnston was the toast of the Pigeon Club for Feathers as he won the all important 16th and final frame of the match to put his team five points clear at the top. After a bad start Thatch are starting to motor, they defeated last seasons Runners Up Ibrox by 10-5 tonight with the match effectively over after the second session as they led 8-2. Q.Pool, also fancied by many, went down 9-6 to stablemates Q.Club whilst Gers move up to joint fourth after securing a point in an exciting 8-8 draw at home to Rubys Stars. Station Bar overcame Clonlee 9-6 whilst the young No 1 Blues put two points on the board courtesy of a 9-6 home win over Freewheelers. Last but not least St Comgalls entertained Thatch Rockets and had a comfortable 11-4 win to move to joint 10th in the League. Next week sees our first break from League action this season as the Knock Out Cup First Round takes centre stage. All ties are played in the Q.Club, the pick of the bunch being Gers v Saints and Thatch v Q.Club.
