League success on International stage

Well done to all relevant League players on representing Northern Ireland at the recent 2016 World Championships or Nations Cup.

There were many fantastic individual and team performances including Feathers' captain Hugo Manson leading his NI Masters Team to a slendid success in the Nations Cup defeating a strong
Scotland team 13-10 in the Final. Thatch player Drew Sloan beat all before him also at the Nations Cup to claim the title of Mens Individual Champion whilst Raymond Stockman of Q.Pool claimed the Bronze Medal at the World Championships. Ibrox's Stephen Johnston took Gold in the Masters Doubles event. Jean McIlroy and Robert Hawkins also led their Ladies and Masters teams to Bronze at the Worlds with 13-5 and 13-12 wins over England and South Africa respectively. Alec Irvine led his Under 18 lads to the last 4 of the Worlds after a nailbiting 13-12 Quarters success against South Africa losing out only to eventual winners France in the Semi Finals. Fantastic performances by Sammy Johnston and Philip Haveron helped their team to World Gold against strong favourites Scotland in the Learning Difficulties event. Rab Brown of Thatch Rockets took his Seniors team to the Semi Finals in Coleraine at the Nations but were overcome 13-10 by a strong England team whilst the Under 15s who included Aaron Rolston and Ryan Marcus lost out to eventual winners Wales in the Semi Finals of the Nations under the guidance of manager Robert Hawkins.

Again, well done to all and apologies if I have forgotten to mention someone.
