SNOOKER STAR MAKES HIS MARK ON THE SMALL TABLE

An invited field of 16 top players from all over Northern Ireland descended upon the Q.Club, Larne on Sunday 20th March for what turned out to be a fantastic day of Blackball Pool in the town. In the handicapped event many of the bookies favourites fell early as the competition made its' way down to the final pairing of World No 10 Snooker star Mark Allen from Antrim and rising star the extremely  talented 18 year old Declan Duff from Lurgan. The youngster belied his years as he led most of the match showing no fear at all of his established opponent and Allen only went ahead for the first time at 7-6. But it wasn't to be for Declan as Mark finished very strongly to claim the top prize with some trademark potting and positional play. The Q.Club would like to thank all the players who took part, Tournament Director Barney Hylands, the referees on the day and referee sponsors Duos Chip Shop, McConnells of Doagh, Wilsons Catering and The Soccer Shed.
