Five Plus One v Bye

We had a great start to the Larne & District Pool League tonight Thursday 12th September. Last seasons League Runners Up St Comgalls went down 10-5 at Alan Johnston's new Q.Stix side. Stix won all five in the first session and consolidated by taking the second session 3-2. St Comgalls rallied but it wasn't enough and the hosts registered their first two points on the table. Ibrox, who finished third last time out, got off to a bad start at home to Hugo Manson's rampant Q.Tips team. The visitors won all three sessions 4-1, 4-1 and 3-2 and Michael Wilson will be hoping for a positive response next week from the Rangers Club side. New side Eight Ball Army got their campaign off to a good start with two away points at The Blues running out 11-4 winners with the damage done in the first two sessions as they led 8-2. Micky O'Boyle's Station Bar raced to a 5-0 lead away at Clonlee before the hosts got back into it at 5-8 but it wasn't to be for Francie Gribben's lads and Station finished 10-5 victors. Lorraine's Flyers and Q. Stars were locked at 5-5 in the Pigeon Club after two sessions but it was the away team who finished strongest taking the final session 4-1 to secure both points. Last but not least Bryan McWhirter's Five Plus One had their bye this week.
