Fantastic night at League 2018 Charity fundraiser

A massive thanks to Carrick League, Crumlin League and a Ballymena Select for bringing teams down to our fundraising night in the Rangers Club on Friday 23rd February. 4x eight person teams played a round robin and it went right down to the wire. For the record it was Dessie Coopers select side that won the tournament taking the last two frames against our Larne team to reamain unbeaten and top the group. In the 32 player single frame Flyer it was Carrick's Rab Butler (We won't mention an outrageous fluke on the black in the Final Rab #luckybagger) 😀😀🏆🎱 who took the honours against a bemused Johnny Murray !!!

But the big winner on the night was our nominated Charity CANCER FOCUS NI. We raised a fantastic total of £600.62 which we will present to them at the end of the season. Some people to thank, first of all Derek Whiteside (Carrick), Raymond Christie (Crumlin), Dessie Cooper (Ballymena) and our League Committee for bringing the teams down, Gillian Rolston and friends for selling the ballot and all the players and others who dug deep to help raise the final amount. Another big mention for the team captains again, unfortunately a finger buffet we had ordered didn't materialise and our Committee offered each £25 to buy their players some drinks, but without hesitation they said "no" and instructed us to put it back into the Charity, great gesture lads.

Anyone who wasn't able to attend last night and wishes to add to our total, no matter how small, please call into Q.Club or give to any Committee member. Every little helps.

Our nominated Charity choice was inspired by League player Rodney McIlhinney who is going through this at the minute. We wish the Station Bar cueist all the best and hope he is back on the green baize as soon as is possible.
