Results from Thursday 9th March

No 1 Blues 6-9 Q.Pool
Station Bar 10-5 Freewheelers
Thatch 12-3 Clonlee
Ibrox 9-6 Rubys
Q.Club 6-9 Saints
Feathers 8-8 Thatch Rockets
St Comgalls 4-11 Gers

The plot thickens yet again in the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League. Leaders Feathers sacrificed a vital point at home to lowly Thatch Rockets with all their main title contenders registering the maximum two. Feathers trailed 6-7 with two match frames remaining which they duly won to lead 8-7 but it was Rockets' Michael Douglas who took the all important play off frame to earn his team a great point. Dean McDonagh's Saints are now only two points off the top courtesy of a tough 9-6 away win at Q.Club, whilst Bryan McWhirter's Thatch team are a further point behind having comfortably seen of basement team Clonlee 12-3. Q.Pool kept their very outside chance alive with a 9-6 away win at No 1 Blues. Station Bar got a welcome win 10-5 at home to Freewheelers whilst both Rangers Club teams won, Ibrox 9-6 at home to Cup Runners Up Rubys Stars and Gers 11-4 away to St Comgalls. With only six fixtures remaining it is really hotting up, Saints will move top in their own right next week if they win their top two clash at home to Feathers by 9-6 or better. Momentum is definitely with the Saints but can Feathers do as they have done all season and remain unbeaten when the final black of the match has been potted ?
