League Week 9

Thursday 15th November

Five 8-8 Q.Tips
Blues 5-10 Q.Stars
Clonlee 5-10 Thatch Rockets
Ibrox 13-2 Lorraine's Flyers
Q.Club 8-8 Freewheelers
Station Bar 3-12 St Comgalls

Q.Tips, after a slow start to their season, put in a great performance to halt the 100% record of League leaders Five by securing the last three racks including a Chris Carson Play Off frame success to claim a point in an exciting 8-8 draw. Five are now joint top with St Comgalls who negotiated a possible banana skin fixture winning 12-3 away at Station Bar to continue their remarkable season. The two top sides clash in the next League fixture, Thursday 22nd November.

Q.Stars stay in touch at the top end of the table with a solid 10-5 win over stablemates The Blues. Nick McClay's Q.Stars were never behind in the match and took both points courtesy of session scores of 4-1, 3-2 and 3-2

Ibrox secured two points with a comprehensive win at home to newcomers Lorraine's Flyers. Michael Wilson's team raced into a 5-0 lead before Flyers took the first two racks of the second session. The comeback wasn't to be and Ibrox took all remaining frames for a 13-2 scoreline.

Freewheelers rescued a superb point at Q.Club coming from 1-4 and then 3-8 behind to draw 8-8 with Gareth McIlroy winning the ultimate sixteenth rack for Jordan Peoples' side.

Last but not least, well done to Thatch Rockets who move off the bottom of the table after winning at Clonlee to register their first points off the season. Ali Law's team won by a convincing 10-5 scoreline with session scores of  4-1, 2-3, 4-1.
