League Week 8 Fixtures

Wednesday 7th November

Clonlee 8-8 Blues (postponed from Week 6)

Well done Clonlee on winning their first League point of the season in last nights rearranged fixture with the Blues. The St Comgalls Club team trailed 5-8 but staged a fine comeback to force a Play Off frame and young Conor Matthews duly delivered for the hosts to rescue the point.

Thursday 8th November

Q.Tips 12-3 Station Bar
Freewheelers 9-7 Blues
Lorraines Flyers 7-9 Clonlee
Q.Stars 7-9 Five
St Comgalls 9-6 Ibrox
Thatch Rockets 4-11 Q.Club

Something had to give at the top end of the table tonight in Week 8 of the Q.Club sponsored Larne & District Pool League as 1st played 3rd and 2nd played 4th. And after the dust had settled it was Five and St Comgalls who both widened the gap with important wins over Q.Stars and Ibrox respectively. Five trailed 0-4 after a superb start by Q.Pool but the League Leaders staged a great comeback inspired by Ronan McCarthy who won four from four on the night including the all important Play Off frame. Up in the St Comgalls Club the hosts took the first session 4-1 against Ibrox and it proved to be the difference as the next two were shared 2-3 and 3-2. It's another big win for St Comgalls before they face tough upcoming fixtures away to Station Bar and at home to Five. Q.Tips got back to winning ways with an emphatic 12-3 victory at home to Station Bar, Hugo Manson's team never looked back after winning all five racks in the first session and they repeated that score in the last session. After being involved in a Play Off frame in last nights rearranged match Blues' match went the full distance again, but this time they had nothing to show for it as Lee Gribben secured both points for Freewheelers with a B&D in Frame 16 giving himself a fine four from four in the match in which Freewheelers were trailing by 5-7 at one stage. Lorraine's Flyers entertained Clonlee  and it also went the distance but agonizingly for the League newcomers it was Clonlee who took the honours to register another two points on the League table. Last but not least Ryan Scott's Q.Club turned it on away to Thatch Rockets, session scores were 0-5, 3-2 and 1-4 and subsequently move up to seventh.
