Four teams maintained their 100% starts in the Larne & District Pool League last night. Nick McClay's Q.Stars overcame a gutsy Freewheelers side by 10-5 whilst Hugo Manson's Q.Tips ran riot away to Thatch Rockets with a 12-3 win. Alphonsus McIlwaine's St Comgalls team also had an emphatic win in the Club derby match against Clonlee seeing off their stablemates by 12-3. But the biggest win of the night goes to Bryan McWhirter's 'Five' who whitewashed Lorraine's 15-0. Whilst it is a big defeat for the League newcomers it let's them see the standard of one of the best sides in the League if not thee best on paper. Michael Wilson's Ibrox were nip and tuck all the way against Ryan Scott's Q.Club but the Rangers Club side were relieved to win the last two racks to get over the line at 9-6 to avoid having to go into a play off frame. Alex Irvine's Blues built on their good result from last week, a draw at Ibrox, to beat a strong Station Bar team by 10-5. That's two defeats now for the Railway Bar men but Micky O'Boyle has put together a good squad and it shouldn't be too long before they start climbing up the table.
